Actually this would be an excellent reason to party, but as luck would have it, there is an extremely boring compactseminar at our school taking place this weekend, which I have to attend... Sometimes life sucks :P |

Even though I'm not a US citizen myself (I have some relatives overseas, but sadly I haven't met them so far...), I'm following the current presidential elections with great interest. I really do hope that everything will make a turn for the better...
As for myself I'm quite busy with my studies and my new job right now :)
Since the beginning of this semester I've been working as an assistant in the 3D-course of my school, helping other students with 3D programs like Blender etc. While this is very interesting (and I'm also a little proud of it ^^), it takes me more time than I expected. At least I've found some time to draw a couple of quick sketches within the last few weeks, which I'll finish up asap :)

So here's a short snippet of my intermediate diploma project.
Models, rigging, texturing, animation and music were made by me :)
Some things like the light settings are a bit off, but since it's actually my first "bigger" animation, I'm quite satisfied with it :) The story is a about two little, bored rodents, having a kind of "shadowmonster duel" ;P It certainly is nothing special, but I found it quite difficult to come up with a story that could be packed into one minute of animation, so please bear with me :)

The crunchtime is over, the deadline can come!
I just finished animating and cuting the last scenes of my intermediate diploma project for artschool and now all that's left for me to do is adding some sound effects and a little bit of background music to the rest^^ The meeting with my professor will be on Tuesday, so please wish me luck! :) |

In case you didn't know it - The second open movie, made with the open source software Blender3D (and some other handy open Source tools) has been released! :)
Storywise it's nothing special (Cartoon violence! :D), but it's definitely worth checking out anyway, especially if you like big, fluffy bunnies ;)

For those of you who wonder, why I'm online very infrequently at the moment, this is one of the reasons:
Just a very short snippet of the character I'm animating :)
Since it's part of a project I'm doing for artschool, it's nothing furry this time (sorry!). It's far from being finished and currently I'm mainly experimenting with the overall visual style, but so far I'm quite satisfied with the first results :) (Made with Blender, Lightwave, and AfterEffects)
Besides I'm still writing on my report for my basic seminar.
(6 more pages to go...! >.<)
Two more weeks until I'll see my dragon again! ^^ *wags* |
